Ultrasonic LeakDetect™
Problem Area:
Our client suspected a potential pipe leak along their boundary water supply line concealed within subsoil which required the engagement of our Ultrasonic LeakDetect™ technology to identify the potential areas of water leakages.
Methodology and findings:
The areas of concern were scanned at an interval of 1m from the start to end point of the pipeline, using the leak detector with the amplifier probe rod attached to the sensor and inserted about 100-150mm into the subsoil. However, there weren’t any abnormal readings captured along the suspected water supply line, narrowing down to the possibility of a potential pipe leakage at the main discharge pipe by the method of elimination. Suspected areas of water leakage are then demarcated with white tapes for reference and identification.
Recommended next-steps:
To excavate the demarcated areas to expose the main discharge pipe and repair the leaking areas.
