Thermal LeakDetect™

Problem Area:

Our client was experiencing dampness along their walkways and flooring. They had hacked several areas in an attempt to locate the source of leakages concealed within the floor, and required our Thermal LeakDetect™ technology to help identify the potential areas of water leakages.

Methodology and findings:

The areas of concern were scanned using the infrared thermal imaging detector. While conducting the thermal leak detection, the areas emitting heat were avoided as much as possible to accurately capture the presence of dampness. Concentrations of dampness were detected in several areas, most of which were near the kitchen island. It narrowed down to a potential possibility of worn-out waterproofing system in the kitchen island which results in dampness.

Recommended next-steps:

To ensure regular checks and clearance of drainage pipes to avoid any potential chokes or backflow, carry out PU injection grouting along kitchen island kerb joints or re-waterproofing of wet areas to prevent water seepage.
