Borescope LeakDetect™
Problem Area:
Our client was experiencing seepage at their basement room’s column after heavy rain. The floor plan reflected that the area of concern was a column with no concealed pipe. It was suspected that the seepage was due to basement subsoil and PU injection grouting was carried out. However, the seepage persisted.
Methodology and findings:
A hollow area was identified while knocking along the column and slight drilling was done to uncover a small opening. A concealed discharge pipe socket was visible via the opening. Our Borescope LeakDetect™ was engaged and inserted into the hole, it was found that there was an elbow inspection eye corresponding to the seepage area. It is possible that there could be a pipe leakage but there was access constraint due to this bricked-up riser.
Recommended next-steps:
To hack an opening in the riser to expose the discharge pipe and identify the actual leakage area before replacing the necessary parts.
